Cult Beauty Haul

I often get a little carried away reading reviews about products I’ve never tried before and then this happens.. A little Cult Beauty splurge! I only ordered four products, so probably not enough to warrant being called a ‘haul’ but I thought I would share them anyway.

Cult Beauty itself is an amazing website that stocks a wide range of brands, from Anastasia Beverly Hills to Pixi to Huda Beauty – all your favourites with fast free delivery over £40 which trust me, isn’t hard to spend!

The first product I added to my basket ‘Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Eyeshadow Palette.’ I have seen this palette all over instagram and have had my eye on it since it came out, so when I saw it over on CB, it reminded me how much I needed it in my life! Inspired by the rich colours of the Middle East, this will be perfect for my upcoming trip to Abu Dhabi. It has eighteen gorgeous shades from shimmery iridescent metallics, to pressed pearls to vibrant duo-chrome toppers in a range of warm tones. The names include ‘Turkish Delight’ ‘Amethyst’ and ‘Desert Sand’ this palette definitely adds a touch of Arabian luxe to my make up bag.

Sticking to Huda Beauty, I also ordered the ‘Liquid Matte Mini’s – Nude Love Collection.’ This is the dreamiest line up in a nude collection I have ever seen, and the longevity that these liquid mattes give is amazing! They’re ultra-comfortable to wear and don’t dry your lips out. I am obsessed with these.

I’ve heard so many people talking about ‘Anastasia Beverley Hills Dip Brow’ that I felt the need to try it out. I’ve tried so many different brow powders, pencils and gels before but I really enjoyed applying this ABH Dip Brow. It has a gel-mousse consistency meaning it’s different to anything I’ve tried before but I found a little bit goes a long way and it glides on really nicely. Its highly pigmented, smudge proof and waterproof so one that will be staying in my make-up bag a long time!

Finally, the last item I picked up is the ‘Alpha-H Liquid Gold.’ I feel like I can’t really review this product yet as its skincare so I need to use it for a couple of weeks before I can give my honest opinion but the reason I choose to add this to my basket was firstly because I’ve heard how so many people love the product and have told me to try it, and secondly recently my skin has had a little bit of a breakout and this is an overnight treatment which is supposed to lower the skins PH, stimulating cellular activity – repairing and renewing skin cells. CB describe the product as ‘Penetrating deep within pores to eradicate spot-causing bacteria - while the resurfacing action also helps to diminish visibility of acne scars, dark spots and brown patches, so your complexion quickly looks more even-toned and luminous.’ I’ll let you know how I get on.

Well Known But Often Forgotten Beauty Hacks

Being the beauty enthusiast I am, I am always looking for ways to make life a little easier when it comes to getting ready. I'm no make-up artist but find these little hacks so helpful and thought I would share with my 5 well known but often forgotten about beauty hacks that I love.

Fuller lips
For fuller lips I will start off by applying a highlighter over my cupids bow, which really helps the lip line to stand out. This is especially great for anyone that has had fillers as you can loose that definition around the lip line. Next line your lips, always starting from the outer corner working up to cupids bow for fuller look. Lining your lips will also help your lipstick stay on longer and look more polished. For an extra plump look, apply your lipstick in an ombre style. Start with a darker colour in the corners moving to a lighter shade in the centre for that extra pop.

Make Up Mishaps
Don’t you hate it when you have just spent 20 minutes on your eye shadow and then when you apply your mascara, you get it on your eyelid. My favourite way to remove this is by dipping a cotton bud in make up remover, gently dabbing the area and using a make up brush to blend the eye shadow back into place.
You can use a similar technique with eyeliner. Take a small angled make up brush, dip in make up remover and tidy up any lines, blending everything back into place after with a beauty blender.

Setting Your Face
When I’m going for a more natural look, I don’t always want to use a heavy powder over the top of foundation. Applying powder with a damp sponge or beauty blender gives a flawless finish, makes the powder feel a lot lighter and less cakey.

Brighten Your Eyes
Next time you are making yourself a green tea, don’t throw away the teabag. Instead pop it in the fridge for a couple of minutes then apply to your eyes for cooling, brightening look.

Natural Straight Hair

If you are somebody like me who has to straighten their hair after washing, be sure to straighten your hair inwards for a more natural look. When you get to about a third from the bottom, hold the hair and turn the straightener inwards. Ensure to use a heat protectant and then apply serum to finish the look. I like to use Elemis superfood oil, although its meant for the face, it leaves my hair silky and glossy.

What are your beauty Hacks? Leave me a comment letting me know!

The White Company Spa Edition

The White Company is one of my favourite, most visited boutiques. From their range of beautiful candles to luxurious linens, everything is so clean and crisp yet so cosy and homely.

A couple of months ago I discovered they had brought out an at home spa range, so before I knew it, in my basket I had diffusers, bath salts, rich moisturisers and everything else in between, so thought it would only be right to pop together a post letting you know what I’ve been loving from the range.

A special mention goes to the packaging, which just as you would expect from The White Company is simple yet chic and every bit as pleasing to the eye as you would imagine.

Firstly lets talk about the ‘Spa Relax Super Glow Body Polish’ This is one of the first products I used from the range and the fragrance I can only describe of that of the aroma when you are indulging in a luxurious massage at a spa. The ingredients include lavender, sage and peppermint giving that fresh scent and creating a relaxing mindset. It’s a great exfoliator, which leaves skin radiant and glowing, ready to be pampered.

Also in the range, is a Hand and Body Wash and Balm. There’s nothing I love more than walking into a bathroom that has ‘posh soap.’ I have these in the restore fragrance, which is refreshingly cool and rejuvenating. The whole White Company Spa range is part of their naturals collection, with essential oils and a pure natural base. The wash is very conditioning, not leaving the skin feeling dry at all and the balm is so soft and nourishing.

The Spa Restore Diffuser is a subtle way to fragrance any room to lift and boost your mood. I have one of these in my bedroom and we also have a few around the house and bathrooms (slightly obsessed.) Again, made from natural essential oils, the fragrance is just beautiful.

To go with the diffuser, I had to get the Spa Restore Candle. Somebody once said to me that burning a posh candle is essentially money up in smoke.. which I guess is true but it hasn’t stopped me yet.. oops. Money can’t buy the feeling of relaxation and rejuvenation that I feel when I burn a White Company Spa candle.

Another item I picked up in my first White Company Spa haul were these Pulse Point Oils. I choose one in relax and one in restore. These are to help you unwind before bed or de-stress on the go and are the perfect size to keep on your bedside table or in your handbag.

The whole White Company Spa range is inspired to capture home life, everyday luxury and those small moments and in my opinion has done that perfectly. I would recommend to everybody to talk one element of the collection and tailor to your own every day routine to create your own ‘at home spa’ environment that you can indulge in.

There are so many more products in the range – as well as the ones mentioned above I have also tried the ‘Spa Restore Muscle Soothing Luxury Bath Soak’ which I have completely used up so couldn’t photograph but they are the most dreamy bath crystals.

Leave me a comment letting me know if you have tried anything from the range or if you would recommend anything from it that you think I should try.

Happy relaxing..

October Favourites

Can you believe that October is over.. I genuinely feel it was five minutes since I was writing my September favourites reminiscing about how I had just returned from a summer holiday at the start of the previous month.. and now I am sat here, wrapped up warm with my blanket, hot water bottle and camomile tea thinking that in less than 4 weeks we will be in December.. This year is flying by!

This month there have been so many bits that I have been loving, that I thought I would write another favourites post so you can get the chance to try them out too.

Firstly this month I have to start with new 2017/2018; 17 month diary from Kate Spade. Kate Spade stationary is just everything and I picked this up at the start of the month from John Lewis and already have been organising my 2018 calendar. Not only do you get to write in it, it comes with beautifully detailed stickers, gold foil text and laminate dividers with a motivational quote at the start of every month. I would definitely recommend picking up this diary and keeping your life as stylish as your outfits.

Next I have a bit of a fashion fave.. this bralette is from Victoria Secret and I have been wearing it loads throughout October. I love the look of a lace bra paired with a sheer blouse over the top and this bralette is perfect for just that. I got it in black, but it comes in a range of different colours so it’s on my to-do list to go and pick it up in a few more colours… and of course the matching knickers are just dreamy.

This month I have been re-reading 'The Mind Makeover' by Sharron Lowe. I've read this book twice before but its one of those you can go back to, even if its just to re-read a certain chapter. The Mind Makeover is so motivating and positive, I can relate to it so much and I would recommend everybody to pick up a copy and have a read!

Finally I can’t not mention my favourite purchase of the month – my Olympus Pen EPL-7. I have seen so many reviews on this camera and as somebody who just loves taking photos of anything and everything, I couldn’t not purchase. So far I absolutely love the quality of the photos it takes, along with the sleek design giving it those instagrammable vibes. I need to get to grips with all the settings so if anybody has any tips or advice please let me know in the comments.
